The Vauth-Sagel Group mourns the loss of its co-partner Peter Sagel

Brakel/Erkeln, 14 February 2025 – The Vauth-Sagel Group is mourning the loss if its co-partner Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. (FH) Peter Sagel, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last weekend. He leaves behind a daughter. In just a few days, he would have celebrated his 53rd birthday.
In Peter Sagel, the company loses not only an outstanding entrepreneur, but above all a man whose loyalty, tireless commitment and enthusiasm for all that he did will be long remembered. As the second youngest of the five sons of company founder Heinrich Sagel, Peter Sagel had worked in the family business for almost 25 years. Together with his brothers Heinz-Otto, Thomas, Claus and Martin, he developed the group into a globally active and sought-after manufacturer of innovative storage solutions and components for the furniture and industry as well as for office and factory facilities. Within the companies, Peter Sagel was responsible for the key competence segment of “Plastics Technology” at the Paderborn and High-Point (USA) sites. His entrepreneurial vision and innovative strength made a significant contribution to the success of the company. He was always willing to go the extra mile – both for the customers and for his own company. His credo was: “They all said it wouldn’t work. And then, along came someone who didn’t know that. And he did it. Let us be that one person".
Peter Sagel was far more than a successful entrepreneur. He was a person with heart, who lives for his family and, as a charismatic leader, always had time to listen to his employees, his partners and his friends. His humour and his ability to inspire people set him apart.
He lived out his great passion for hunting in his local East Westphalian turf and beyond. As an ambitious sport shooter, he won various medals in the discipline of skeet (clay pigeon shooting), in particular for and with his home club WTC Bad Salzuflen. Nor will his engagement for numerous other clubs be forgotten.
Peter Sagel’s sudden death has left a huge gap. His brothers, his family and all the employees of the Vauth-Sagel Group are deeply saddened and full of grief.
A memorial service will take place in Brakel on Friday 28 March 2025 at 3:30 pm in the St Michael’s Church, followed by a reception in the Brakel town hall.
