ALL BECAUSE OF LOVE AND CHEESE
How a passionate success story began in 1962
Although he was not aware of it at the time, Heinrich Sagel laid the foundations for Vauth-Sagel when he met and fell in love with Annemarie Vauth. One day, his father-in-law asked him whether he would like to go into business with him. Hermann Vauth had once owned a cheese dairy. Now in well-deserved retirement, he felt too young, however, to rest on his laurels and came up with the idea for a new venture: from own experience, he knew what cheese dairies needed and therefore wanted to produce equipment that met their requirements. As he got on like a house on fire with his father-in-law, Heinrich Sagel didn't hesitate.
So in 1962, they established the Vauth-Sagel KG "for the fabrication and forming of wire and sheet metal".
The first products were wire curd breakers and cheese racks. One could therefore truthfully say that love and cheese were the two essential elements that led to the founding of Vauth-Sagel. By the way, we still work with wire and sheet metal. However, over the course of almost 60 years, we have added plastic and wood to our core spectrum, a consolidation of material expertise that is unique in our industry. What is also unique is that we still manufacture almost exclusively in close proximity to where the company was founded.
One reason for this is certainly our identity as a down to earth family business that has remained true to its roots and is managed by the second generation of the family, Heinrich Sagel's five sons.
1962 establishment by Hermann Vauth and Heinrich Sagel in Brakel-Beller; the company starts to produce industrial goods and functional hardware.
Start of the production of beds for hospitals, nursing homes and the German army. Relocation to Brakel-Erkeln and construction of the first office building.
A pull out larder system marked the next milestone in the company history; addition of the first plastic products to the production range.
The company continued to grow; addition of wood expertise and in-house logistics. Consolidation of the individual companies into the Vauth-Sagel Group, now Vauth-Sagel Holding.
Diversification: the business welcomed the new millennium with several irons in the fire. The acquisition of the well-established brand Mauser was another milestone in the Vauth-Sagel history.
Establishment of the logistics centre in Beverungen.
Vauth-Sagel realignment and further consolidation: in future, customers from all over the world would be able to draw on Vauth-Sagel's system technology development and material expertise as well as that of Westo in the area of polymer technologies. Having a central development department unlocked a wide range of possibilities, particularly when it comes to the combination of several materials. Whether wire, steel, sheet metal, wood or plastic – all of this was now available from one source, tailor-made to meet the individual customer needs.
Vauth-Sagel successfully celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Establishment of the company Vauth-Sagel USA in the summer of 2013. It was an immediate success, due to the fact that customers were now not only able to source country-specific system components for perfectly equipped kitchens domestically, but also the entire global range of "quality made in Germany" via the company's headquarters.
All of the Vauth-Sagel Group's four production sites in Germany were successfully certified according to EN ISO 14001 for their environmental management system and according to DIN EN ISO 50001 for their energy management system.
